About us
The Career Center 4RI supports PhD candidates and postdocs in planning their next career steps. 4RI refers to the four research institutes of the ETH Domain in Switzerland: PSI, Empa, Eawag and WSL.
We help researchers explore career opportunities, make informed career decisions, and prepare for their professional transition. Through our events, researchers can connect with representatives from industry and public institutions, gain insights into a wide range of career paths, and expand their professional networks.

Hello, I'm Alona Bärtschi, Head of the Career Center 4RI. I lead career development initiatives for PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers across PSI, Empa, Eawag, and WSL, helping them explore career opportunities and prepare for successful transitions within and beyond academia.
I also collaborate with companies and organizations interested in connecting with highly qualified researchers through career events, networking activities, and other partnership opportunities.
