This workshop supports PhDs and postdocs in gaining clarity about their career direction and developing concrete next steps. It consists of two modules that can be attended separately or as a full day. The morning focuses on career orientation and reflection; the afternoon on practical application skills and job search strategies.

- Career paths within and beyond academia
- Defining individual next steps


Targets
Participants understand:
- Typical career paths for PhDs and postdocs
- Differences between academic and non-academic careers
- Key decision factors in career planning
- The role of values, strengths, and motivation
- How to structure a career decision process

Target audience

Internal, PhDs and Postdocs from PSI, Empa, Eawag, WSL

Duration

Two module of 1/2 day, possible to attend either one of them or two together. The morning focuses on career orientation and reflection; the afternoon on practical application skills and job search strategies.
