This workshop supports PhDs and postdocs in gaining clarity about their career direction and developing concrete next steps. It consists of two modules that can be attended separately or as a full day. The morning focuses on career orientation and reflection; the afternoon on practical application skills and job search strategies.

- Academic vs. industry CVs and motivation letter
- Translating academic experience for non-academic employers
- Job search strategies and channels (including hidden job market)
- Networking and informational interviews
- Interview preparation basics
- Personal job search plan

- Differences between academic and industry applications

- Effective job search strategies
- The role of networking and the hidden job market
- How to prepare for an interview

Internal, PhDs and Postdocs from PSI, Empa, Eawag, WSL

Duration

Two module of 1/2 day, possible to attend either one of them or two together. The morning focuses on career orientation and reflection; the afternoon on practical application skills and job search strategies.
